Just west of Galway, a short drive along the coast road, lay two quaint towns: Barna & Spiddal. Thanks to a friendly skate-shop owner in Galway, we got a recommendation for a fantastic seafood joint, O'Grady's on the Pier. So we headed out to Barna on Tuesday to grab a bite for lunch.
You'll see these types of signs EVERYWHERE in Ireland directing you to your destination.
The blue building in the background is the restaurant. The boats in the harbor bring in the catch. Can you say "fresh"?!
I had an awesome Cajun Prawn dish and John had his favorite, Steamed Mussels with White Wine & Garlic.
We continued on to Spiddal where we ran across another great beach.
Just past the beach lay the town.
A beautiful Catholic church which is historically still predominately Gaelic, given it's proximity to the Aran Islands.
